Welcome to Journeys in Between

My name is Matt Stone and I write to promote listening, conversation, learning and respect between Christians and people of alternative spiritual traditions.

I write out of my experiences amongst religious movements such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Wicca, New Age and many different Christian traditions.

Over the years I have been involved in: Community of Hope stalls at Mind Body Spirit Festivals and other alternative festivals in Australia; Emerging Church leader gatherings in Sydney; the Lausanne Committee online discussion forum on New Religious Movements; various Pagan + Christian dialogue forums; and more.

This blog is an extension of that activity, and besides welcoming interfaith dialogue on this site I also like to interview more prominent voices from alternative religious traditions on this blog occasionally.

I also like to experiment with alternative ways of practicing Christianity and my own nomadic worship experiments were featured in the book Encountering New Religious Movements which won the 2005 Christianity Today award for Missions/Global Affairs. As for my own tradition, you might think of me as a mystical evangelical Christian, but that really only scratches the surface. To find out more you need to read on.
